Angus Stephens
As a native Floridian, born in Miami and raised in Ocala, this community holds a special place in my heart. My family was first drawn to the hills of Marion County in Fairfield, just outside of Ocala, because of our connection to Quarter-horses. I grew up on a 40 acre farm and although I personally didn’t ride as a child I got the feed and hay duties for the 3 horses and a dozen Black Angus cattle. No, I wasn’t named after my dads favorite bull.
As a teenager, some of my favorite memories include skiing at Lake Weir, spring break at Daytona Beach or going down “Superhighway” to jump from the bluffs into the Ocklawaha river. The times were relatively simple. Cellphones and the internet hadn’t hit the markets.
After high school, I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!!!) with a Liberal Arts degree and returned to Ocala to start my professional career. While I’ve spent most of my life in Florida, my career has allowed me the opportunity to live and travel across the country. I was fortunate to call both Colorado and Texas home for a time, experiences that enriched my life and exposed me to new cultures and ways of living.
Family is the foundation of my life, and my family is right here in Ocala. Ocala remains home.
Prior to moving back to Ocala I was a project manager and the similarities from this field are what drew me back to being a realtor: people, process and outcomes.
When I’m not helping clients, you’ll often find me outdoors, in the woods or at the range. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as past president of both the Ponte Vedra Sunset Rotary Club as well as The Ocala Big Sun Jaycees. Throughout my career I have also been active in the local Chamber of Commerce.
